GWM Further Strengthens Design Team
Following the appointment of former BMW M-division design chief Pierre Leclercq as its design director last year, GWM has recently further strengthened the design team by also appointing Ramon Ginah, previously Alfa Romeo's chief interior designer.
Ginah was responsible for the interiors of such recent Alfa Romeo models as the Giulietta and 4C, and also the upcoming Duetto and Giulia models. Ginah reports directly to Leclercq and will be based at the company's Shanghai and Baoding design studios.
The design team has also been bolstered by the addition of Oliver Molody, formerly the creative director at BMW's DesignWorksUSA studio, who has joined GWM as director of detail design. Also from DesignWorks comes Nils Uellendahl, who has been appointed as a senior interior designer.
Another ex-BMW man, Pierre Fichet Delavault, has joined as senior interior designer. Franck Levivier has been appointed as a senior exterior designer, having worked as Pininfarina's senior designer. Finally, the digital team grows with the joining of former Renault senior digital sculptor Nicolas Rousseau, as well as colleague Antoine Happiette.
The appointments are further evidence of the brand's intent to become a global player.
