What’s New On The GWM Steed 6?

As with any product, you expect there to be a step up when new products, or, in this case, models come out. But, when talking about the GWM Steed 6, you’re faced with the difficulty of surmounting the already high bar set by the spectacular GWM Steed 5. So, what does a new GWM Steed need to bring to the party if it is to take a step forward from a brilliant predecessor?

Before we can answer that question, we first need to look at the starting point, which is the GWM Steed 5 off of which the 6 was launched.

The GWM Steed 5

The Steed 5 remains a fantastic bakkie. It’s a double cab, which South Africans love, and absolutely tough as nails. But, underneath the aggressive, angular exterior design lurks a luxurious cabin that offers bucket-loads of comfort and entertainment.

With leather seats, air-conditioning, power steering, and a brilliant audio system, the Steed 5 offers abundant comfort and entertainment. Add to that the rugged design features and leading safety and security and you’ve got an awe-inspiring bakkie.

The Steed 5 is powered by a 2.2 litre petrol engine that puts out 78 kW and generates 190 Nm of torque.

What the GWM Steed 6 Adds

Because of all its features, the Steed 5 is certainly a hard act to follow. But limits are meant to be exceeded, and the Steed 6 has managed to build on its impressive predecessor.

The leather seats are now joined by a leather-wrapped steering wheel, which perfectly complements the top-notch entertainment system. This system features electrically adjustable seats, cruise control, and an audio player with Bluetooth capability.

Powering this beast forward is GWM’s widely-praised 2.0 litre direct-injected VGT engine, whose turbocharger brings its power output up to 105 kW. Complimenting this is a 6 speed transmission, ensuring that the comfort inside is not compromised by a lack of brunt.

Though mighty, the Steed 6 is not without finesse. Uncontrollable power is useless, so the electronic driving aids make sure that this monster can be kept restrained. Such restraints exist in the form of Electronic Stability Control by Bosch, ensuring that even the most treacherous roads can easily be conquered.

These are just some of the fantastic features which the Steed 6 brings to the table. For more information on this exceptional bakkie, be sure to contact GWM today!
