Accountant

Main Purpose of Job:

The primary purpose of the Accountant is to manage financial records, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, prepare financial statements, and provide insights into the financial performance of the organization.

Minimum Qualification:

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or SAICA (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) is preferred.

Knowledge & Experience:

A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles is required.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is essential for effective performance in this role.
Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Principal Areas of Accountability:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports to reflect the organization's financial status.
Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement in financial performance.
Assist with tax preparation and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and deadlines.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making processes.
Ensure adherence to accounting principles, standards, and regulations in all financial reporting activities.
