Sales Planner

Main Purpose of Job:

Manage regional car flow, model allocations, and sales planning processes to optimise vehicle supply and demand. Support sales teams by ensuring timely distribution and strategic forecasting.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Automotive Sales Qualification (SAQA ID 64289) is advantageous.
  • National Automobile Dealers Association Certification may be beneficial.

  • Knowledge of automotive sales planning and inventory management.
  • Understanding of vehicle supply chain processes and allocation strategies.
  • Familiarity with regional marketing and sales trends.
  • Experience in data analysis and forecasting tools.

Principal Areas of Accountability:

  • Analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual car flow to adapt to regional needs and align with incentives.
  • Monitor wholesale and retail sales performance against plans and recommend adjustments to supply requests.
  • Coordinate with Exco team on inventory constraints, surplus assignments, and risk identification in sales plans.
  • Develop and order the optimal product mix to maximize turnover.
  • Ensure fair and timely vehicle allocation within dealer networks and regional fleet requirements.
  • Monitor and control allocation processes to optimise inventory distribution.
  • Coordinate with port operations to ensure efficient vehicle shipment and distribution.
  • Analyse regional model allocations and forecast inventory levels based on expected sales trends.
  • Support monthly wholesale objectives by balancing dealer inventories across model lines.
  • Identify fast-selling trends, anticipate demand shifts, and recommend production forecasting strategies.
  • Collaborate with Dealer Development to anticipate changes in dealer ownership and recommend allocation adjustments.
  • Track system-driven car flow adjustments in response to market trends, competitor promotions, and economic conditions.
  • Assist in executing regional business plans to address car flow gaps, market penetration, and sales profitability.
