GWM celebrates top-performing Dealers and unveils new vehicles at the 2025 Dealer Conference and awards

An Evening of Innovation, Growth, and Recognition

Johannesburg, 27 February 2025 – The Sandton Convention Centre was alive with energy as GWM South Africa hosted its highly anticipated Dealer Conference and Awards, an annual event that not only celebrated the company’s top-performing dealerships but also heralded the arrival of three groundbreaking new vehicles.

More than 300 dealers, partners, and stakeholders gathered to witness the latest chapter in GWM’s remarkable 18-year journey in South Africa. What started as a modest brand offering durable pick-ups has transformed into a strong force in the local automotive market, boasting a diverse lineup that spans luxury SUVs, robust bakkies, and cutting-edge new energy vehicles (NEVs).

Three Bold New Arrivals: GWM Expands Its Local Lineup

At the heart of the conference was the unveiling of three highly anticipated models, each set to redefine expectations in its respective category.

The all-New GWM P300 – More Power. More Grit. More Adventure.

Fresh off the success of the award-winning P500, GWM introduced the all-new P300, a bakkie engineered for versatility, power, and refinement. Designed to tackle the toughest terrains and heaviest loads, the P300 features a formidable new generation 2.4L Turbo Diesel engine delivering 135kW and 480Nm of torque. Coupled with an advanced 9-speed automatic transmission, it promises seamless power delivery, optimal fuel efficiency, and an impressive towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.

The P300 isn’t just about brute strength—it’s about intelligent design. Advanced driver assistance systems, cutting-edge infotainment, and premium interior finishes ensure that this is a workhorse that doesn’t compromise on comfort.

Tank 300 Diesel – Efficiency for Endless Adventures

GWM’s rugged Tank lineup received a powerful new addition in the form of the Tank 300 Diesel. Designed to cater to South Africa’s strong preference for diesel-powered 4x4s, this off-road beast comes equipped with the same 2.4L Turbo Diesel engine as the P300, ensuring enhanced low-end torque for superior off-road performance.

With a braked towing capacity of 3 000 kg, improved fuel efficiency, and a suite of off-road driving modes, the Tank 300 Diesel is set to become a favourite among adventure enthusiasts and overlanders alike.

Haval H6 GT PHEV – GWM’s first-ever PHEV in SA

GWM has unveiled its first plug-in hybrid for South Africa, the Haval H6 GT PHEV. With a class-leading electric range of up to 180 km on a single charge and impressive long-range performance, this model is a game-changer for eco-conscious drivers. Perfect for those embracing new energy vehicles but hesitant to fully commit to electric cars due to the current EV infrastructure, the H6 GT PHEV offers a seamless blend of sustainability and practicality.

Equipped with a cutting-edge hybrid powertrain producing 342kW and 762Nm of torque, the H6 GT PHEV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Its advanced fast-charging capabilities allow it to recharge from 30% to 80% in just 26 minutes, reinforcing GWM’s commitment to innovation in the NEV space.

GWM’s investment in future mobility extends far beyond hybrids. The company has already committed over R32 billion to R&D globally in emerging technologies, including hydrogen propulsion, solidifying its position as a pioneer in the automotive industry.

Recognising the Backbone of GWM: The Dealer Network

While the unveiling of new models stole the spotlight, the evening was also about celebrating the dealers who have played a crucial role in GWM’s success. Across Southern Africa, GWM’s dealer network has expanded exponentially, bringing world-class service and products to customers in every corner of the region.
